Alright, weather. You have obviously mastered the art of being 40 degrees and rainy. KUDOS! Now move on to something else, mmkay?
As we have still been holed inside most days, save for those few sprinkles of sunshine and 50s/60s earlier in the month, Shannon and I decided to make our own Easter candy this year for the kids' and our baskets. We borrowed his mom and grandmother's candy molds, the ones that they used to fill his basket when he was a boy. Cute, huh?
All in all, it was an incredibly fun mess, and we ended up with so many chocolate confections that it will be hard to eat them all during Easter week. (Okay, maybe not insurmountably hard.) The best part was the making, though.
We're gearing up for spring break and a trip to mom & dad's (overnight! with the kids!) to go to the Columbus Zoo and art museum. After that we're in full swing for May and getting the future nursery demolished, re-roofed, re-windowed, and put back together before her pending arrival.
Speaking of our wee traveller, she has taken to acrobatics at regular intervals during the day, making me curious to see how adorable I find this when she is twice the size in there. I can see her kicking now, which is totally weird. At any moment I expect Alien to burst out of my already-stretched-to-capacity belly button. Let's hope she's a lot cuter than this:
